EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR THE MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE

The Mental Health Association of Middle Tennessee (MHAMT) is now in its 61st year of service to the Middle Tennessee community. Since its founding, their mission has been to promote mental health for all people through education, advocacy, and service. Over the years, the Association has worked diligently to educate all members of the community about how to attain good mental health. Last year alone they were able to share their message of hope for mental wellness to over 100,000 individuals. By being a frontline resource for the community, the MHAMT is in a position to identify important mental health needs in Middle Tennessee, and then often facilitates the development of programs to meet those needs or enhance resources to address service gaps. Several programs that began with the MHAMT have now evolved into independent agencies, such as Park Center, Tennessee Voices for Children and the Crisis Center. Overview: Serve as the chief executive officer, responsible to the Board of Directors for the effective conduct of the affairs of the Association, in accordance with the Association's charter and mission. Recommend to the Board and participate in the formulation of the agency's goals and objectives, related policies and program initiatives. Plan, organize, coordinate and direct staff, programs, financial resources, and advocacy activities to assure that goals/objectives are achieved. Maintain effective working relationship with the National Mental Health Association and its affiliate chapters in Tennessee. Represent and articulate the goals/values of the Mental Health Association to the larger community, and through advocacy initiatives at the local, state and national levels.

Founded in 1968, Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center, Inc. (MWCHC) is community based and focuses on comprehensive primary care programs for residents in Davidson County and the surrounding counties of Middle Tennessee. We are located at 14th and Historic Jefferson Street. Family nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, and family physicians provide medical care to patients from the prenatal stage through geriatrics. Dental care is provided from pre-school age through geriatrics. Our medical and dental staff employs a team concept to provide patients with a comprehensive approach to improved health.
